铜乐队 BRASS BAND

Riam Road Secondary School Brass Band (RSB) was set up by the former ACEO of Riam Education Management, Miss Chan Siew Ngo in November 2005. The purpose of our band is to cultivate the musical talents of our young members and give them the opportunity to showcase their talent to the world.

Through our band, members can widen their social circle and interact with not just people their age but their seniors and juniors as well. Our members have learnt that teamwork makes the dream work and have worked together for the betterment of the band. Furthermore, members are proactive in finding ways to make things work and improving the band.

There are training camps held annually to improve the members’ skills and strengthen the bond between our members. Not only that, orientation camps are organized to welcome new members at the start of the year.

In 2007, the band achieved fourth place in the State Level Marching Band competition against 5 other veteran bands. A year after on 8 November, the band achieved a distinction with a score of 92 out of 100 marks in the Trinity Guildhall Intermediate Recital Certificate Examination. Other achievements include a distinction with a score of 87 out of 100 marks in the Trinity Guildhall Advanced Certificate Examination in 2011, a Gold Award in the secondary school section of the Taiwan International Marching Show Band Competition in 2015.
